I am happy to announce that the lovely Smoosh has finished her Grand Championship! Smoosh is a very correct, breed typey Sussex with beautiful movement, perfect bite and of course the best temperament on the planet, thanks to Marv, her mother! Note the proper tail set, below the back...something that is sadly disappearing quickly in this breed.

I get asked all the time about our "facility". As a tiny, HOBBY breeder that only has 1-2 litters a year, I don't have a facility, I have a private residence just like you. I am not open to the public for tours, the very idea is absurd!
We have 360 acres with plenty of room for dogs to run, explore and hunt...and they do! We are fortunate to have a climate controlled indoor kennel of 8 runs. We do not keep intact male springers on the property. Our dogs are not prisoners and the springers are kenneled only at night, when we are having horrible weather (muddy floors - OY!) and during heat cycles. The Sussex are full-time house dogs. Our property is gated with several security cameras strategically placed to keep track of spaniel shenanigans. There are two, one acre puppy and dog yards, and a 40 acre fenced "yard" for the house dogs.
When we have puppies, they are live streamed 24/7 until they leave, or destroy the camera. (Usually around the same time - lol!)
We are located near Anaconda. Yellowstone National Park is about 90 minutes to the south. A fun factoid: Yellowstone the TV show is filmed in Ravalli County, in western Montana and in Utah...pretty far away from the real Yellowstone. I don't watch the show. Most Montanans don't. We prefer 1923, which is legit and filmed locally!

ALL SOLD! British artist, Jo Van Kampen has sent me a few gorgeous prints of the oil painting she has done of my special boys! They are $100, including shipping. They are more gorgeous in real life than in photos. She is doing another one of my girls Faith and Marv in 2025. I believe they are 12 x 16 in size, numbered, signed by the artist. Only 20 high quality, giclee prints were made. No more will ever be made.
Baby Olive is now a show Champion! She finished at the Hurricane Ridge shows in beautiful Sequim, WA. I also met my new, get out of Montana house, and will be spending a few months a year there enjoying the beach and ocean views.

It took 2 years of putting this gorgeous dog back together after he was returned to me shaved down to the skin, but Pax, Hellfires Marvelous, finally came out for his very first shows and picked up some BOWX3 points and a fabulous Group 3 in a stunning Bred By Exhibitor Sporting Group - the competition is fierce in the Pacific Northwest!
Pax is out of my MBISS GCHB CH Hellfires Mizz Marvel "Marv" X GCH CH Three D First and Foremost "Frank" litter of 9. He is 7+ years old and getting a late start, but he still looks great! I could kick myself for not keeping him as he was the only boy in that litter. He would have have had an outstanding show career had I got him back earlier!

Unless we go to Florida in December, our show season is finally over for the year. Team Hellfire put some serious miles on the van and we had a blast doing some new shows in new places, and made a whole lot of new friends along the way. It was no small task, but for the 2023 show season we finished 4 new Hellfire Champions, 3 Grand Champions and a Bronze Grand Champion. THANK YOU to my (world's best) assistant Tyson and all our fabulous friends, dog sitters and family who stepped up to help. I am looking forward to whatever 2024 brings us, hopefully some obedience and hunt tests!
Baby Marv! Sweetest dog on the planet. It's hard to believe she is 8 years old now. She is a great example of why it's more important to care about what's in the head, than the size of it.

We are finally back in the show rings and off to a great start. For her very first show outing, the lovely "Smoosh" (Frank X Marv) went Best of Breed from the Bred-By Exhibitor class, over two GCH specials for a 5 point major! (Judge: Eva Berg)
