Hellfire Springer Spaniel Puppies 2025

 Gem is a fearless warrior, extremely well bred, smaller sized, high drive smarty pants out of Toby X ZozzyI am still looking, but if I can't find a decent stud male with all the open sourced OFA health testing I require, I will be using the frozen semen we have from Pod (who was neutered and lives with a friend down the road).

My puppies are raised in the house with Puppy Culture, not a kennel or shed. I expect this breeding will happen over winter or early 2025. Reservations are available now. We use a puppy application/deposit process. The link to our 411 Info Page is on our contact page. 

GEMS 2024 litter: Puppies went to homes who do hunting, agility, active lifestyle family pet, one is a bat conservation detection dog (MT) and another is a human remains SAR dog (OR).  High drive, super smart dogs who can do anything. Gem had 9 puppies in 2024, so I will be taking 6 -7 deposits this time. (I usually just take 4) 

Energy level:  BUSY, but handle crating and kenneling extremely well. Very quiet when confined. 

Athletic? Yep. Gorgeous, straight, perfect long legs that can goooooo! 

Size: All the girls are quite small like Gem and I don't see any of them getting bigger than 35/37 pounds. The boys were average sized and should mature into the 45 pound range like Pod.

Biddability: Medium-High  Girls always have a stronger independent streak than boys. Hondo (the only black and white puppy born in the litter) is one of the nicest young dogs I have had in my kennel in a very long time. So much talent there! I am keeping him as my next competitive obedience dog. He would excel in anything he did.

Brains: Super smart, prefer they have access to a yard and a job to keep them challenged. Owners need a  5-6 foot fenced yard, sorry 4 feet is just not high enough. Hondo is a jumper at the 4 foot height.

Price: $2000-2500 depending on what sire I use.  Deposits are $300 

This is our only springer litter for 2025, maybe the last one ever. We prefer serious inquiries from people who have owned a FIELD springer before and understand the commitment of training one. These are NOT apartment dogs. 

As we slowly phase out the springers and migrate to the new house in NW Washington (the original plan was 4 years but I'd like to speed that up), I will have two older puppies for sale and two fully vetted and health screened young adult females available for rehoming in the spring.

We have FIELD (performance bred) springer puppies! Males and one female available. All black and white. Ready to go at 9 weeks, the weekend of February 8th. Raised with the Puppy Culture workbook, by an experienced and accomplished AKC Breeder of Merit.

Repeat breeding, both parents fully health screened and in the OFA health database.  Puppies will be DAPP/Bordetella vaccinated, microchipped and have a heart and wellness exam at 8 weeks. Tails docked FIELD length (2/3 is left on). Almost all these kids had huge and terrible rear dew claws, which were removed, but I left the front dew claws ON. A softer, more biddable temperament is expected. These will be super sweet, very gentle, team players

BREEDER NOTE: The coats on these springers will be unusually light and we will not place any of these puppies in cold weather hunting homes. Gorgeous, leggy, active, FAST, smart dogs expected. These are the perfect agility candidates! The speed alone is just crazy, never seen anything like it. 

A 24/7 puppy cam livestream is available for the official puppy list. (An acceptable  puppy application and deposit are required.) Most people pick up in person, or fly in cabin with their puppy. Cargo shipping is a only a possibility if the bi-polar Montana weather allows it.

Home Sweet Home

I get asked all the time about our "facility".  As a tiny, HOBBY breeder that only has 1-2 litters a year, I don't have a facility, I have a private residence just like you.  I am not open to the public for tours, the very idea is absurd!

We have 360 acres with plenty of room for dogs to run, explore and hunt...and they do!  We are fortunate  to have a climate controlled indoor kennel of 8 runs. We do not keep intact male springers on the property. Our dogs are not prisoners and the springers are kenneled only at night, when we are having horrible weather (muddy floors - OY!) and during heat cycles. The Sussex are full-time house dogs. Our property is gated with several security cameras strategically placed to keep track of spaniel shenanigans. There are two, one acre puppy and dog yards, and a 40 acre fenced "yard" for the house dogs.

When we have puppies, they are live streamed 24/7 until they leave, or destroy the camera. (Usually around the same time - lol!) 

We are located near Anaconda. Yellowstone National Park is about 90 minutes to the south. A fun factoid: Yellowstone the TV show is filmed in Ravalli County, in western Montana and in Utah...pretty far away from the real Yellowstone. I don't watch the show. Most Montanans don't. We prefer 1923, which is legit and filmed locally!

My grooming room is used a LOT.

The puppy yard is in two parts - this is the one acre "big yard".

This is the "little yard"  - the puppies have access to it at night and learn to use the doggy door around 5 weeks old.  The lavender gate opens to the big puppy yard.

He was an amazing dog and I miss him every day.  He was the best dog. I wish I had started him in obedience earlier as he would not doubt have finished his OTCH.

Hellfire Gun Dogs

NO White Christmas this year in Montana. Not a snowflake to be found. First time in the 40 years I've lived here!

 

Just wanted to add that no matter what my springers do with their lives, they are always bred as gun dogs first and foremost. I have been shooting over FIELD springers since I was 10 years old, I'm a gun dog person. I am NOT a field trialer. I always get a kick out the guys who ask me if my dogs can hunt. I'm like dude, can you read? I guess the 30+ Master Hunters and 14 Field Trial Winners and countless people who have actually shot over my dogs just aren't proof enough! Whatever. I do not keep dogs that are subpar. Period.

The newest rankings are out and THREE Hellfires are in the Top 5! The Top 5 get invites to the National event. A year ago I didn't even know what this sport was, but it's become crazy popular. FastCat is an AKC Sport - basically a 100 yard dash chasing a rabbit (plastic bag) lure.
