Hellfire English Springer and Sussex Spaniels

So far so good!

The good news: The flight pen is full again. So far so good. No sign of coyotes. (I'm seriously considering getting a wolfhound or coyote chasing lurcher of some kind.) 

The bad news: The smoke from the forest fires to the west of us is unbearable, with no end in sight. Visibility is about a half mile today. I might need an oxygen mask to run my next agility trial. :(

Feeling Blue

It came when we least expected it, but I'm glad that the red streak is finally over. On Saturday Ice earned a coveted High Combined award under judge Chris Cornell (sadly not the lead singer from Soundgarden). Today he won more (you guessed it)...reds. This was the biggest trial in Montana, and 4th place got a score of 98/100, so we did pretty darn well and beat some very nice dogs.

Things are winding down with only agility and tracking left on the 2012 to do list.

It's beginning to look a lot like...

Hmmm. I'm sensing a theme here.

FAST and Standard Q's

Just went up for the day to run in FAST and Standard classes and passed in both. It was our first attempt at FAST and it was really FUN as it requires both strategy  - and some math. ;) Best of all, we are starting to figure this game out and getting solid fast times with no faults. Have really enjoyed the Great Falls club events this year. Next month they'll see us (yet) again at the tracking tests.

Seeing Red

An okay weekend in the Rally Excellent B Group with scores in the 90's which should qualify Ice for the 2013 National Obedience & Rally Championship.  Next year both Toby and Ice will finish their RAE titles ...which is 10 double Q's in Advanced and Excellent. It has been both a lot of fun and a lot of work! When they are done Chica and Haley will start.
