Dove love

Beautiful mourning dove visited the frontyard pond today. They make such a lovely sound and I hope he sticks around. This one followed me to the backyard after I cooed to him.

I know in some places they are found in huge groups and are sporting birds, but where I live they are solitary or seen as mated pairs only. I could never shoot one!

 

De-Sprung

Iceman doing 'long down' at obedience practice tonight. Toby (clicker monster) surprised me by doing even better. Still have so much stuff to practice!

Hope we can be ready by September. I think we can, I think we can, I think we can...

PS: Our weather continues to be crap. Expecting more snow tomorrow. 

Burning it Up

Oooh, another Navy baby success story to post!

Burnie is hoping to finish his Master Hunter this year. This is another puppy I sold as a "gun dog" that ended up as a multi tasking trial dog in Colorado.

Senzi Style

We can add another newbie success story to our list. Craig and Senzi (Toby X Navy puppy and full sister to the 2010 US High Point Trial Puppy) wowed the judges at a recent hunt test in Michigan. What a beauty she is!

It all starts with a nice dog and a little push toward the right door. :D 

AKC Breeder of Merit: Montana Springer Spaniels

It's official! Hellfire is now an AKC English Springer Spaniel Breeder of Merit.

Over 50 AKC performance titles in field trials, hunting tests, agility, obedience, rally and tracking events have been earned by dogs bred and/or owned by us. Every litter we have bred since 2002 has produced dogs that have particpated in AKC dog events and have achieved success. All but three of our puppies have gone to gun dog homes.

It's just fact, not a brag. Hellfire is Montana's only English Springer Spaniel Breeder of Merit. Proven quality over time, verifiable OFA health screenings on ALL our dogs since our first litter, and participation in the world of dog sport since 1999.

 I don't know how many of YOUR mums run around  pigeon lofts in their Star Wars pajamas  and get excited waving around a flashlight and cell camera to get pictures of elusive albino deer mice, but hey, that's just how I roll.

The Iceman Cometh Along

Iceman is training hard and coming along nicely! Hoping to have him rock solid steady by the end of Summer. He's three years old, and I take forever training my own dogs, so I'd say he's right on schedule. ;) If the brutally cold winds and crap weather would leave us alone we'd be able get more done, but, tis Montana, and she has her mind made up to be a bipolar bitch this year.

Sigh.

Coronal (r)ejection

We had this thing called "Sun" today.  (It was amazing.)  Then a strange corona appeared over the setting sun. Then it snowed.
