This year continues to kick my ass, and we started off October by losing Bones to a perforated bowel. He was the sweetest boy, out of Singer and Mickey. Bones was one of the most honest flushing spaniels I have ever owned (and I've owned some nice ones), and his retrieving was off the chart awesome, and totally natural. Perfect marking, to hand deliveries with NO forcing or training of any kind. I was so proud of that! He was bred a few times (Sophie, Haley, Mia and is the dad of Tiki's two puppies) and produced the lovely Lola - my goofy girl with the black leg and black tipped tail. Bones and Haley produced Angus, the C Diff sniffing dog, who is a global celebrity because of his amazing nosework, and also a couple of hunt test puppies, but most went to avid gun dog homes.
Bones was just five years old. I will miss him so much.
Rest in Peace Bones - we will always love you!
