Crossing our fingers because Chee-Chee is being bred to Hondo (Pod X Gem 2024) in about a week! His OFA screenings are done and his HIP prelim was Excellent! If it works, puppies will be due in JULY, ready to go in mid-September. I am building a wait list now!
Gem is being sent out to a Field Champion/National Field Champion for a late FALL litter this year. Puppies will not be cheap. Serious inquiries are welcome.
Both Gem and Chee-Chee are OFA CHIC. Hondo’s CHIC is expected in May upon completion of his final Hip/Elbow OFA. All three of these dogs are VERY high drive and energy. Gem is smaller and more traditionally built, but CheeChee and Hondo are leggy racehorses that need to run.
I have a super sweet white/liver male available now TO A NON-HUNTING/COMPANION HOME ONLY. He is fully vetted, normal CAER eyes, Normal heart (via Specialist), full DAPP/Bordateella vaccinated and is from two very sound parents. Steve is a total love bug, he LOVES people, has never met a stranger he didn’t like, but he is just kind of quirky and more soft tempered than his siblings so I held him back to see where it went. He is learning basic obedience now and is very quiet in a crate. I feel he isn’t ambitious enough to be a hunting dog. He is NOT a hyper spaz, not particularly adventurous, not a troublemaker and prefers to be inside doing quiet things, like cuddling and watching TV. He has a fabulous off switch! After a lifetime of very active hunting dogs, trust me, this one is a freaking fabulous to have in the house! We are working on potty training but as I have a fulltime doggy door open he never has accidents in the house. He has been raised entirely in the house. There is nothing wrong with this very sweet boy, he’s a true diamond in the rough. Born 12/28/2025 New pictures and videos on request.
I am hauling him around to dog shows until he finds his forever home and will be in Yakima, Lynden, Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, Puyallup and a few more in the west and maybe Wyoming/Colorado over summer.

Just a few of the Hellfire Springers that have reached a noteworthy level of AKC Agility. Some are still competing and there are a few more working their way up the ranks.

AKC Fast CAT is a fun popular and growing coursing ability dog sport that tests both speed and drive. Basically the dogs are chasing a plastic “rabbit” lure, something they aren’t allowed to do in the field…except mine chase cottontails every day. LOL Four years ago I had never even heard of this sport, but now it’s so popular that I can never get into and run my own dogs. It’s always booked and the lines are a mile long at dog shows I go to! However, there are a handful of Hellfire Springers that participate and in 2023 three of the Top 5 springers were bred by me! Honestly, I was shocked.
You can check the past and current breed rankings HERE. Below are just a few of the Hellfire’s having fun chasing the rabbits.

Two Springers from our kennel have been awarded prestigious and coveted ESSFTA Versatile Springer Awards celebrating outstanding accomplishments in multiple venues, at the very highest levels of competition. Both Indy and Toby were also excellent producers of many field champions, master hunters and offspring that continue to excel in both field and performance events.

Still slowly rebuilding my blog after the epic Typepad meltdown took all my images with it.
Hellfire Kennels is situated on 360 acres of rolling grassy hills and forest that borders thousands of acres of BLM land. We have two one acre play yards and a 40 acre “back yard” with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. Several coveys of partridge live in the fields, rabbits are ridiculously plentiful and it seems like every day is a barn hunt of one critter or another. We have a small, squeaky clean, heated/cooled indoor kennel of 8 runs. Our dogs are NOT prisoners and the only time they are confined is during bad weather, heat cycles and if I need a break from the doggy door action and zoomies.
Our puppies are whelped and raised in the house, using established science, Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and socialization enrichment activities, like those found in the Puppy Culture Workbook. A livestream camera is offered 24/7 from just after birth until the puppies leave…or they destroy the cameras. (Which is around the same time – lol!) Visitors are only allowed after the puppies have had two sets of shots, and only by people on our litter list.
We are about 70 miles from the BZN airport, 2 hours from Yellowstone National Park and 3.5 hours from Glacier National Park. Our new, local airport in BTM, only flies Delta. We prefer you pick up your puppy in person, but because puppies are not fully protected from dangerous viruses at 9-10 weeks old, we discourage long drives with rest area stops and hotel stays along the way.
Finally, we only offer 1-2 litters a year. Our dogs are not a business and our home is a PRIVATE residence, just like yours. We do not allow drop in visitors from people we don’t know, ever. Our property is monitored by several security cameras to keep an eye on area wildlife and spaniel shenanigans.
Our little puppy play yard. The lavender gate opens up to the one acre play area. The big puppy play yard is one acre of mowed and unmowed grass.During summer months, cool pools are in every yard. The puppies are taken out into the field several times a day.The ball pit is used a LOT!Our runs of various sizes are sparkling clean, heated and cooled. None of our dogs are kenneled fulltime.
Our old blog server suddenly went offline taking 20 years of our pictures, posts and files with it. Welcome to the new one. If you are looking for our main kennel website, click the link in the navigation bar above. I am still learning how to use WordPress, and it’s been a chore remapping domains and links, but I’m going as fast as I can,
Oh, man… my blog (hellfirespringers.com) server (Typepad) suddenly shuttered and purged all its files! They say they gave us warning, but no, I never received an email about it. Twenty (20) years of pictures and posts just disappeared. Gone. My blog is usually where I post puppy/breeding info since it isn’t allowed on Facebook…and I’m tired of having videos and photos stolen!
Anyway, I will either start a new one or forward the domain to my website mthellfire.com
I currently have one reservation open for the Gem litter as I just dropped a time waster.
I will have a couple of (fully health tested) Springers available for rehoming in 2026. My rehoming fee is the price of a spay/neuter. A puppy application plus a bunch of other questions is required.
